Pony Party - 29 May 2011
Lucia's Pony Party was lots of fun. As we were getting the ponies ready, some of the kids came up and met the ponies. We tacked up the ponies and brought them over to the mounting block. A flood of kids surrounded the area, all chatting about the different ponies and which one they liked the look of.
"Who's first?" Cheryl called out to the excited kids.
"Me! Me! Me!" shouted one of the kids as she waved her hand about in the air. Up she walked to the black mounting block, ready to ride Bing. Bing stood quietly while the girl got lifted on to him. Libby walked them around slowly, a smile spread across the girls face. When they finished their last round, Bing stopped and the girl hopped off.
"That was so much fun!" she says when she goes back to her friends.
As the day went on all the kids had a ride. They had a lunch break and played some games inside the clubhouse while the ponies had a break. When the kids came out again, we took the ponies out to the showjumping paddock and took them for pony rides out there. They went walking, trotting, over poles and even went up hills and round some barrels.
Once the day had finished everyone headed in.
Thank you to Libby, Cathy, Atiria, Kathleen, Bernie, Nicky, Lisa, Tehran and Cheryl. The ponies were very good and we all enjoyed it.
